Hi I'm Robert

I'm a convert and proud to be a Latter Day Saint (mormon).

About Me

Hi, my name is Robert an I'm a convert. I found the church or you could say Heavenly Father found me while I was stationed in the Netherlands. I served 20 years in the USAF, 14 as a Air Force Security Policeman and the last 6 in Communications were I work on F.E.Warren AFB, Wy telephone switch room. I became inactive for about 18 years, but during this inactivity Our Heavenly Father was always giving me little prompts to come back. These prompts were such as getting lost in a strange town and finding myself in front of a Meeting House or even a Temple, the Spirit now that I come to think about it was really quite strong on these occassions, but I still ignored it. I still never forgot my testimony of the Book of Mormon or of the Church. In 2002 I finally came back and I feel even stronger in someways. I currently drive for a Long Haul trucking company and also train other drivers.

Why I am a Mormon

In my youth I attended alot of different Churches, but I just couldn't wrap myself around there behavior or what they were saying, it never felt right. So I became more worldly instead. In the Netherlands a friend was reading the Book Of Mormon an I started asking questions about this strange book. Well the next thing I knew was the Missionaries were teaching me. They ask me to read the Book of Mormon and exercise Moroni promise. I did, an knew that the Book was the Word of God, but was still not ready to give up all my worldly ways and habits. So the missionaries ask me to Pray and ask God if this Church is True. Well in a way I did, in my pray that night I asked Heavenly Father if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was truily his church restore to this earth were his son Jesus Christ is it's Chief Cornerstone and its High Priest, the answer was absolute that it was. The next night when I saw the Missionaries we set a Baptism Date.

How I live my faith

Being a Long Haul Trucker, I am gone about 4 to 5 weeks at a time, being single that is not a problem. I have been able to study the Four Standard works like I have never been able to in my life. I am about to for the first time in my life have read and studied the entire Old Testament. I work on Family History on the Internet and I have had the privledge of Doing work in various Temple across the United States for my family. (Ogden Temple, Salt Lake, Portland, Denver, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. I was privledged to receive my Endowments in the London Temple. I Love the Peace in the Lord House, but especially the oportunity to preform work for my family member. I find joy in keeping Heavenly Father commandment and the strenght he has become to me in my day to day life. I attend Church as often as I can, but I keep Heavenly Father and his Son in my thought all day long. Being a Trainer, I always have spare Book of Mormons with me for those who ask for one and on occasion have Religious discussion with Student if they ask, which about 1/2 of them do.
