Hi I'm Krista

I grew up in Europe and the United States. I am a homemaker with three beautiful children and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Having a family with three kids 11 years old and under is challenging, but I love it. I feel very blessed to have a husband with whom I can share the wonders (and trials) of parenthood. I enjoy spending time with my family in the great outdoors of Colorado. I also love to write, as I used to be a journalist before becoming a full-time homemaker. Deciding to stay at home with my children is the best choice I ever made. No other job could ever compare.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church as a young child when my parents converted to the LDS faith. All my life, I have grown up knowing that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me, a Savior who died and now lives for me, and a family that cares deeply about me. But I did not ever feel it as strongly as I did when I was preparing to serve an 18-month proselyting mission for the LDS church. I still remember the day when I knew for absolute certain that my Father in Heaven loves me - I was in the missionary training center and we were doing role plays on teaching the gospel. It was my turn to talk about how much God loved me and how much He loved the person I was teaching. In that moment, I felt a tremendous amount of warmth enter my heart, whispering to my soul that not only did God love me, but that He also loved everybody in the whole world. I felt that He was happy that I was going out to share His message of love and hope with His children in Germany (the nation where I was subsequently sent to serve). I know without a doubt that this is Christ's church. It is His example I follow and it is His life I try to emulate.

How I live my faith

Every day, I try to help someone, starting with my own family and moving outward from there. I believe the more you serve others, the more you come to love them. I attend church with my family each Sunday and we do our best to follow the teachings of the Savior, Jesus Christ, during the week that follows our Sabbath-day worship. We hold weekly family nights in order to strengthen our gospel knowledge and enjoy each other more as a family. We read the scriptures daily as a family, and I encourage my children to read their scriptures for a few minutes each day on their own, as well. I try to attend a temple worship service as often as possible, either alone or with my husband. We feel that going to the temple - the House of the Lord - regularly strengthens our marriage bond and helps us have more harmony in our home.
