Hi I'm Sue

I am a full-time missionary. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. I like flowers. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Southern California. I attended Brigham Young University where I met my wonderful husband and earned a degree in Accounting. We were married in the Los Angeles Temple in 1980. We have 4 daughters and 1 son. We have 11 grandchildren. We are currently serving as full-time missionaries in the South America South Area headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Our home is on 3½ acres, and we have a cat and some chickens. We have a large flower garden and a vegetable garden. I love to walk and talk with my friends. I love to read good books, especially children's books. Several years ago I read all of the Newbery Medal books. Two of my favorites are A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park and Carry On, Mr. Bowditch by Jean Lee Latham. I love to sing. I sang with the Ensign Symphony and Chorus in Seattle, Washington for 3 years until my husband and I left on our mission. I was blessed to be a stay-at-home Mom since our first child was born. Our children have be active in sports (running, volleyball, tennis, softball), music and dance. I have enjoyed many hours at practices, lessons, games, meets, & concerts. My family is precious to me!

Why I am a Mormon

My great-great-great-grandfather joined the church in England in 1838, so my family has been members of the church for a very long time. When I was growing up, I went to our church because that is what our family did. As I attended church and read the scriptures, my testimony grew little by little until it became a strong conviction that the gospel is true.

How I live my faith

My husband and I are living 7,000 miles from our home in Washington while we are serving a mission. It is hard to be so far from our family, but we know we are making a difference and helping Heavenly Father's work move forward in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. I pray and read the scriptures (in English and in Spanish) daily by myself and with my husband. I sing (in Spanish) with the children in our ward here in Buenos Aires. I try to be a good example of a follower of Jesus Christ and serve others.
