Hi I'm Joy

I'm a research microbiologist, a pianist, a cancer survivor, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and Im a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of four and grandmother of six. Ive been married for 41 years. I have taught piano in school and privately. I love cooking especially for family get togethers. I went back to college when our children were grown, received my degree in microbiology, and continued working in Obstetric and Gynecolgical research at the university for about 10 years. Recently I was diagnosed with cancer. I under went surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation and now, Im cancer free. I also enjoying reading, crocheting, and great music. And I enjoy a good walk in the park, too.

Why I am a Mormon

I became familiar with the church as early as 5 years old but did not join until I was 19 and in college for the first time. I was looking for a church with doctrine that would bless me with a marriage that was eternal. I found eternal marriage plus so much more. I love the Lord and how he seems to always be one step ahead of my needs not my wants. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of the Lord and we have a current Prophet here on earth, Pres Monson. I love to do his work here on earth. Ive studied the scriptures and prayed to Heavenly Father to know if this church is true. I know I received answers to my prayers. I would not be the same person without His gospel. I am so thankful for this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the Lords church... I have had many blessings given to me to serve with youth and adults. I love serving in music. The spirit can be so strong when working with music in the church. I have also taught and served in leadership positions in Primary, Young Women and Relief Society. Ive made lifelong friends thruout my 42 years as a member of the church. But most of all my heart and spirit have always been filled with a special love for the gospel.
