Casey: Mormon.

Hi I'm Casey

About Me

I am a recent graduate of an Arizona high school. I'm a nanny. I am a future student of BYU-Idaho. I plan on majoring in Health Science and doing International Health, My favorite hobbie is singing. I'm currently in my church's ward choir and I love it! I consider myself to be an open-minded person. I love learning about different cultures, religions, and myths. I am an independent person with few close friends. I love long walks on the beach....just kidding. I want to move out of Arizona because I think the desert landscape is kinda ugly. And it is too hot here. Well that's me in a nutshell!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. At first I just went with the flow of things. I did what every other mormon kid did. I didn't quite have my own opinions on the church until I opened my mind and thought for myself. Once I hit the stage of maturity in my life, I opened my eyes and realized what the church does for me. I always took being a member for granted and always wished I was a convert, because they seem to have a better, more stronger testimony. I realized it is something you have to work at. I can't just sit there and let it hit me. I have to be active and catch the knowledge when it comes at me. I decided that I need to better myself now and stop feeling apathy for the church. I started reading my scriptures again and praying. I got my patriarchal blessing and strived to have those blessings in my life. I finished my personal progress for Young Women so that I can build my testimony. I plan on going on a mission. And I do not care where the Lord sends me. I believe in the Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that he is my older brother and he loves me. I know that he was sent here to earth to take my burdens and put them on his shoulders. I believe he will come again. I believe in the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I am glad to have the priesthood in my life. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God, and that God still speaks to his children today. I know that I am a daughter of God.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

If you have the talent of being a good listener, like what I believe I have, you can bless others in times of need. Our earthly life gives us sorrow and happiness, and it is always nice to have someone who will listen to your stories.

How I live my faith

I consider myself an active member of the church. I go to church every Sunday, and go early to get the soft seats! I try to actively listen in Sunday school and learn all that God wants me to learn. I am the Laurel (group of young women from ages 16-18) president in my ward and I try to be a good example to the young women. I attend church choir every Sunday before church and sing praises unto God. I try to do what is right everyday and surround myself with good people. I admit I'm not perfect, but I'm trying.
