Hi I'm Scott

I was born and raised in Twin Falls, Idaho. Now I am a CPA in Arizona and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with my focus being helping individuasl and businesses keep track of their money and reduce their taxes. My favorite pastime is just spending time with my family, my wife and I have three girls and a boy at the end. I do enjoy all sports, but basketball and golf are my favorites.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but before I went on my mission to Boston, I had search out and find out for myself if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. That peaceful feeling I felt as I read the Book of Mormon and prayed confirmed to me that it was true. I then had the opportunity to travel across the United State to share the gospel message with the people of Massachusetts. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me through the tough times and been a guide to me when I have felt lost. It also helps me in my relationship with my wife and the raising of our children.

How I live my faith

I continue to work in the Church. I recently got asked to help as leader of the 11 year old scouts. I get to help them with their scouting activities during our weekly meetings and teach them about Jesus Christ in Church on Sunday. During my years in the Church, I have been asked to do many things, from helping in the nursery with the 2 and 3 year olds to working with the 16 and 17 year old boys in scouting. Each assignment presents its own set of challenges and rewards, but the thing they all have in common is that great feeling you get from helping others. Being a member of the Church has given me and continues to give me many opportunities to serve. I think the spiritual feelings you get from helping others is a big part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am glad I get the opportunity to help others in some small way.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is one’s personal beliefs and feeling about a topic. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints our own testimony often relates to our feelings and beliefs about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ , the prophet Joseph Smith, the scriptures and the living prophet today. These feelings are very personal and run deep; as a result individuals often get emotional when sharing their testimony with others. Show more Show less
