Hi I'm Brittany

I'm a stay at home mother & wife with 3 girls under 6 that keep me very busy. I'm a born & bred Texan & 1st generation mormon!

About Me

I am currently a stay at home mom with 3 girls who love to stay on the go. Me and my family are born and bred Texans and my husband and I are 1st generation Mormons. I love to party and plan events with family and friends when time permits. Gardening, home makeover activities, photography, and bargain shopping (especially garage sales) are my favorite hobbies and past times. Some of my current interests and plans for the future are learning more about financing and finding better ways to save money and plan for the future. I am good at spending money :) but hope to be better at saving money so I can help secure my future and my family's as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am mormon not by chance. 16 years ago, similar to Joseph Smith, I knelt in prayer in search for joining the right church. Prior to that prayer my life choices and consequences of those choices led me to need direction and a better way to live. After a series of steps in my life and real intent on my part I knelt in prayer and received a answer so strong that from that day forward I started a different way of living. I know with out a doubt that the churchof Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is God's true chruch upon the earth today and I know that he loves each of us so much that he sent his son, our savior, to die just so that we could have the opportunity for a better life not just here on earth but after our lives here as well. I am grateful for my Christian up bringing and the knowlege that it gave me while growing up. Although I made mistakes and still do, the knowledge of Christ in my up bringing gave me hope for a better world. I am also grateful for the opprotunity I had back in September of 1995 when I first read The book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon was the book that lead me to my full conversion to being a Christian. I am so grateful for the book of Mormon and for being a part of this great church. Heavenly Father and our brother, Jesus Christ, showed me 16 years ago, through prayer and sending the spirit, just how much they love me and how much they want me to be happy. I am forever in debt to them for all they have done for me and am so grateful for this great plan they have created for us.

How I live my faith

Being a 1st generation Mormon can be hard at times. With family in all directions that do not share our faith we find some activities lead to questions with our children but we try our best to keep our standards and live our lives as faithful members. Some things we do differently now vs. prior to our memebership in the church is our social activities. We find places to go with family and children that allow the spirit to come into conversations. When invited to activities on Sunday we choose those activiites that grow our family relationships and stay along the lines of keeping the sabborth day holy. We choose to say our prayer at event dinners, which others also enjoy doing. We enjoy teaching others about scriptures and our eternal beliefs and seek to find common ground with our family and friends outside the chruch and then grow our relationships from there. There are many things all around our youth today that are contrary to the gospel way of life so we feel it is important to live as Chrisitans do and love our neighbors as our selves. Just because others don't share our beliefs doesn't make us any better but we can have the spirit with us when we choose to live our lives as best as we can along the straight and narrow. We are still not perfect but we are happy and feel good when we choose to do the things the Lord has requested of us. Matthew 5:16""Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

No single person wrote the Book of Mormon, it is similar to the Holy Bible in that several people, called of God, wrote their testimonies and histories down so that future generations could come to know Jesus Christ. It is very similar to the Holy Bible, and is an addition to the testionies found in the Holy Bible. We as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints are encouraged to read from both the book of Mormon and the Holy Bible to gain a clearer testimony and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
