Hi I'm Taylor
I grew up in California. I am passionate about music and technology. I'm a Mormon.
One of my favorite past times has been to wear a nice suit and go out with my wife to a nice jazz concert. She laughs at how I dance on the edge of my seat and listen with enthusiasm throughout the entire performance. It never ceases to be great entertainment for both of us. Jazz is more of a recent development though. I spent much of my childhood playing classical music on piano. I played some jazz on trumpet in middle school and decided to revisit it in high school on piano. To keep myself physically fit, I let my wife beat me at lacrosse in the park. After I'm all wore out we play basketball together or go for a bike ride. Every winter I can, I play football or frisbee in the snow with friends or family. Technology fascinates me. That's what led me to study Information Systems in college. I hope to work for a tech company someday and to develop software. I enjoy finding ways to solve business problems with technological solutions.
Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a lifestyle, not just a weekend activity. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ every day helps me draw closer to God. The knowledge that God lives and that he has restored the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ through a modern-day prophet brings me great comfort because I know that God is actively concerned about his children here on the earth. He is not just a supernatural force or unknown entity that created the earth and let it alone. He loves his children and wants us to be happy. That's why living prophets are so important. God revealed many important things to prophets in the ancient days. He expands on that knowledge even more today. The significance of living prophets is always re-impressed upon my mind when I hear them speak every six months in a world wide general conference that the Church broadcasts throughout the world. Not only do I know that God has given us the Old and New Testament, but also clarified more of his gospel in the Book of Mormon and continues to do so through living prophets.
I seek opportunities to serve others. I believe that's how we come to know God best, by serving his children. Though I struggle to overcome laziness and self-centeredness, I cannot deny the happiness and joy I have felt from serving others. I do my best to set aside time everyday to study the scriptures with my wife so that we can better come to know and understand the teachings of the Savior.
