Hi I'm Marlin Adams

I live in Thomaston, Georgia and I am a professor of art at a local college. I love good art work and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a faculty member at a local college where I am a professor of art, teaching young people how to draw, sculpt design and paint. I really enjoy teaching them something that is creative and uplifting and can better their lives. I really feel that good art can enhance our self image and help us identify who we are as God's children. I am a 63 year old Father of 10 children and 25 grand children who's company I enjoy on a regular basis. Most of my children are married to wonderful spouses and raising children of their own, teaching them how to live happy, successful lives in accord with Christian principles. I have much to be thankful for, mostly in relation to a family who puts God first in their lives. I can't think of a greater blessing even though my art is a big one.

Why I am a Mormon

I have spent much time while growing up studying scriptures and Christianity in general and have visited many faiths. I attended Seminary as a youth and read through the New testament, The Book of Momon, and other scriptures and books which helped to solidify my faith. I used to wonder as a youth, how people could know whether what they had was true and through much study and prayer I came to know for myself. I have felt myself uplifted many times by scriptural messages to me. I know that they teach men to do good and follow the savior in every aspect of their lives. Here is what happens with the study of The Book of Mormon and other scripture. You realize that you understand far more about the Bible than those who use the Bible as their only text, not only because of the perfect coordination, but also because of the extra explanations and because of that mind and heart connection spoken of in modern scripture as the "spirit of revelation". The Book of Mormon supports the devine origin of the Bible (1 Nephi 13:40) and helps us understand that God is the Savior of all mankind. I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) because I know that it rests firmly upon the foundation of apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:19-20) and answers man's most basic questions about his own existance: Where did I come from?, Why am I here?, and Where am I going? Most importantly it teaches men how to be happy by love and service to their fellow men.

How I live my faith

I have served in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for both the adults and the youth. I have seen the joy that comes into the lives of those who join the church, serve their fellowmen and determine to live by it's precepts. The Gospel of Jesus Christ helps protect us from evil influences in the world. I enjoy the presence of charitable men and women who love the Lord. I know that my Savior lives and I want to stand in his presence along with my friends, family and loved ones when earth life is done. I invite you to attend church with me.
