Hi I'm Shelley

I'm a dancer and a hairstylist. I love DIY projects, hiking, and spending time with family. I'm an aunt and a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love home improvement and decorating projects and I have recently started blogging about it. I love improving the surroundings around me. I grew up dancing ballet and danced on modern/contemporary companies during college. I continue to dance around my house and participate in online dance projects. I'm a mother to a stillborn baby. Until I can live my life as a mom; I spend lots of time with my nieces and nephews, I cut hair part-time, and hang out with my husband and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel blessed to have been raised in a Mormon family. When I was in my youth I sought to know for myself if what I had been taught all my life was true. When I was 16 I prayed to know for a surety of the truthfulness of the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I felt an overwhelming feeling that it indeed was true! I knew that my ancestors and people that sacrificed so much before me would not have done it if it was not true. God spoke to my heart and I cannot deny those feelings I had. I choose to follow the commandments of God, because when I do I am happiest.

How I live my faith

I love to do all that I am asked to do. For a couple of years I was in charge of leading the children's Sunday school class -both teaching the children and overseeing their teachers. I loved being able to work with the sweet children of God and learn from their simple testimonies. I currently am in charge of overseeing "visiting teaching." Visiting teaching is a program where all the women are assigned to watch after particular individuals. I love getting to know the other women in my neighborhood. I am impressed by the service that is rendered on each other's behalf. I am so lucky to be a part of a community that cares for and watches after each other.
