Hi I'm Teresa

I seek beauty in the creations of God and man. With the gospel of Christ, I find it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

We live in a beautiful world, and I enjoy exploring it. Whether observing nature on a hike or studying it scientifically, I find beauty, patterns, and puzzles that testify of God's creation. I also enjoy learning about the cultures and traditions of His children. I enjoy the beauty I find in art, music, and literature that God inspires people to create. I feel that I follow in His footsteps when I plant a garden, write, sew, or play piano. The most important creative process in which I engage is raising my sons with my wonderful husband. I hope they will make a positive difference in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints makes sense. I learned much about it from my parents and teachers. As a young adult, I thought I should find out more for myself. After studying and praying, I realized that I already knew that it was true. It makes sense that God is a loving father who wants us, his children, to be happy. It makes sense that he gives us instructions on how to achieve happiness. It makes sense that he has sent representatives to teach his children these instructions. It makes sense that these prophets have recorded their teachings for future generations to study. It is also perfectly understandable that, as children, we make mistakes. We need help. We need forgiveness. While I don't understand how, I know that Jesus Christ can make me whole when I fail or when I hurt. It makes sense to trust in Him, so that He can bring me safely home to our Father.

How I live my faith

Life can be crazy with a house full of boys, but we find a measure of peace as we prioritize church attendance and activity. At home, we try to read and discuss the scriptures daily, so our sons can learn what we believe. At church, I play the piano for the children's classes. The hymns and songs of the Church teach Christ's doctrine in a way that is simple to understand and easy to remember. I still recall the songs I learned as a child. I'm glad that I can help my children and their friends learn the gospel while they sing. I also enjoy singing in the choir.
