Hi I'm Elaine

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

About Me

What would you like to know about me? I'm a Mom of four boys, divorced, busy, and happy. I would rather listen to my son talk about thermodynamics than watch the stove, and it shows. I'm also a first year law student and I run marathons. I'm crazy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church; however, there came I time when I needed to know what I believed for myself. There really is no reason to remain a member of this Church without a strong conviction it is a good and right thing. That knowledge I have is deeper than academic; it is core deep, gained from spiritual feelings and long experience. Some of the unique things about our Church that I am grateful for: I am grateful we believe God is still communicating with a Prophet. Being a parent, I taught my children what they needed to know when they were little. However, now that some of them are adults and have all the basics, I am grateful they have not shut me out; that there is still an open line of communication. I am grateful for the strong emphasis the Church puts on my Savior, Jesus Christ. We worship Him. Although we believe this Church started when He walked the earth; we also believe there was a falling away and that it needed to be restored. That has happened and I am grateful to be a part of it.

How I live my faith

Like many others, I try to live my faith; I do not always succeed as I would like. However, it does help to have a religion, a structure, a guide. Although it is very cool to be "spiritual, but not religious", I do see a point in the structure and order that is religion, particularly this one.
