Hi I'm Hannah

I'm a BYU student and soon-to-be missionary. I love to smile! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Brigham Young University, but I am taking 3 semesters off to serve a full-time mission for the church. I enjoy learning and getting to know all sorts of people. I love people. I love to sing-- music brings me joy. I love smiles and believe wholeheartedly that they are contagious :) I have been called to serve in the México Ciudad Juárez Mission, reporting on June 24th, 2015.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a strong LDS family and they all inspire me to be my best. Just because my family is strong in the church doesn't mean I've always had a strong testimony. In middle school I struggled with understanding plenty of things, but through the service of those around me and through my own personal prayers and study of the scriptures, I've come to understand many of those things I didn't before. I know that I am a daughter of God and He loves me. I know this to be true of everyone; we are all children of a Heavenly Father who loves us personally and unconditionally. He demonstrated this love by sending His son, Jesus Christ, to the earth to teach us and pay the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Because of what He did for us, we can be made clean from our sins and be healed from our pains and difficulties. We can be made whole and find peace and joy as we draw nearer to Christ. As I have followed a pattern of daily prayer and scripture study, as well as weekly church attendance, I have grown to know that though at times I feel small and inadequate in the world, I am worth everything to Him. No matter what comes my way in life, I can accomplish it with His help.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving people. I have been blessed in my life with a loving family, caring teachers and leaders, and wonderful friends. I have become better throughout my life because of the love others have shown me-- particularly because of the love Jesus Christ as shown me. I strive to show that same love I have received to those around me. I have also served in various church callings. I have been a chorister for Sunday Meetings and church choirs, and as a youth I served in youth leadership positions. I am currently a communications committee chairperson for my congregation here at BYU. I lead a committee that makes sure everybody knows what activities and resources are available for them so they can be involved in growing individually and serving those around them. I make sure to be involved in as many service opportunities as I can; service benefits everyone involved. :) I am also preparing to serve a mission in Mexico where I will teach the people there about Jesus Christ and what He has given us. The understanding I have of God's plan for has blessed me tremendously as I have taken on trials in life with the most positive perspective I can. As we do our best, God provides a way for us to grow through our trials and find joy in life. I am excited to share this message of hope with the people in Mexico.
