Hi I'm Austin

I am from Colorado, I love martial arts, running, welding, and anything in the outdoors. But most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of three boys in my family. I recently graduated from high school, and I was a Varsity Track and Cross-Country runner. I love hanging out with my friends, doing anything that is outdoors, I am a very big gun and shooting enthusiast, I have some talent in art, especially origami. I also really like welding sculptures out of scrap metal. I have earned the rank of Eagle Scout for Boy Scouts. But what I enjoy doing more than anything is martial arts. I also have a deep love of my country and the soldiers, Founders, and Framers that have fought to give us our liberty. I could test for my second-degree Black Belt this upcoming February, but I have decided to forgo that test to serve my mission. I am currently in the Missionary Training Center preparing to serve in the Mexico Tampico Mission for two years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, but I will be honest when I say that I did not gain a testimony until I was twelve years old. When I was twelve I got to go into the temple for the first time and I will never forget how strongly I felt the Holy Spirit that day. That feeling is a feeling that has stuck with me ever since. I would like to bear my testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true, and that the Book of Mormon is true as well. More importantly, I have a testimony that Christ is the Savior of this world, and that through His infinite Atonement we can repent and return to the presence of God. I am serving a mission because I cannot imagine not having the Gospel and the love of Christ in my life, and I want everyone in the world to have the chance to feel our Savior's love.

How I live my faith

On Sundays, I bless the Sacrament because I am a Priest. I also interpreted the Sacrement prayers into sign language. Sometimes there are people who cannot make it to church for some reason or another, and it was my job along with another priesthood holder's to take the Sacrament to them. I also had home teaching assignments where I teach or serve families in their homes. My dad and I were home teaching companions, and we checked on our assigned families at least once every month. I talk about all of that in the past tense because right now I am currently on my mission, and I am now living my faith by serving the Lord 24/7.
