Hi I'm Krista Eckland

I'm a convert who has bipolar type 2 and I'm a Mormon! :D

About Me

I am a convert to the church. I joined May 22, 2011. I wasn't really familiar with the church or had any Mormon friends that brought me in. I felt that I couldn't get any lower than I already was. I was looking for a way out and I desired to change. I deeply wished for a new chance at life and an opportunity to restart. Then while I was at work in early May, I heard a voice in my head tell me to go to Mormon.org and fill out a missionary request. It didn't make any sense, so I ignored it. I heard it again later that day, so I figured, why not? What have I got to lose? So I followed through. Then by that Wednesday, I heard from a set of online missionaries. Then that Friday, the full-time missionaries came to my apartment and we started the lessons. As I prayed and began to read the Book Of Mormon, I knew that it was true. 3 weeks later I was baptized. It is the best decision I have ever made. I am a ward family history consultant in the Silver Lake YSA ward. I love indexing and doing family history work!!! I am really passionate about Temple work. I go once a week. Outside of that, I run a mental health support group on Facebook. As mentioned, I am Bipolar. For a long time I wondered why I have it. I am starting to think that He gave me mental illnesses so that I can support and be of service to others of the similarity. I have a strong testimony of the Church and of the Holy Ghost. I love to share them! If you'd like I can share some with you :)

Why I am a Mormon

Why I decided to converted to LDS.. my life was going nowhere good. I was in a downward spiral and moving fast. I recieved prompting to contact the missionaries. I knew nothing about the Church. I did it anyway. It picked me up and put me on a better path. The path to happiness. I changed a lot from who I was. I go into it more on my blog. If you'd like to know more about who I was then to who I am now and don't have the opportunity to speak with me in person, feel free to go read it on my blog. It really is the best decision of my life. To follow our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. I suggest it to anyone and everyone.

How I live my faith

I go to the temple regularly. I went through on August 2nd, 2013. I go to church as often as I can. I have a job that sometimes requires me to work Sundays. I am active in my calling. I listen to the scriptures and general conference talks regularly. I share my testimony and information about the church any chance I get!
