Hi I'm Maddy Gordon

I'm a college student, a chocolate lover, and soon to be a missionary to share with others that God loves them. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student at Brigham Young University. I am majoring in biophysics and enjoy learning. I hope to graduate college and go to medical school to become a doctor. One of my dreams is to one day join Doctors Without Borders--a charity that helps to internationally give medical care to those in need of help. I enjoy hanging out with friends, baking, and swimming. I decided a few months back to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (which has been nick-named the Mormon church). I will be going to Korea to help teach people of God's love and commandments. I could not be more excited!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I truly know that this church is true. I have seen the way people's eyes light up when they feel the Spirit testifying that this is the true church. I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times and truly studied the many lessons we can learn from it. I have prayed, and I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet who translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. And I truly believe that if you read the Book of Mormon and pray to God asking if it's true, you will receive an answer. I know, without a doubt, that God is our Heavenly Father and that he loves us very much. And I have a testimony that, when we truly understand this, our lives will change for the better. I know that Christ is our Savior. That He died so that we can have a way back to live with Heavenly Father again after this life. I am grateful for this church in my life and the true happiness it brings to my life. And I'm grateful I can share this church and its true teachings with others so that they may find the true happiness I have found.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many different ways. I pray to my Heavenly Father every morning and night, as well as whenever I need help or would like to thank Him for the many blessings He has given me. Also, I try to include everyone and make everyone feel like they can make a difference--because they can. I follow the word of wisdom (no smoking, drinking, or putting harmful things in my body) and I try to be a good example to others. I also try to choose good friends, and I know that the friends I choose will have a big impact on my choices. However, the main way I live my faith is by trying to be like Jesus.
