Hi I'm Hailey

I'm a nursing student and a lifeguard. I'm a total nerd. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I am a college student. I am hoping to become a nurse when I am done with school. I love being at the pool, which is why I work as a lifeguard. I teach young children how to swim and I also coach swim team. I like to go camping and hiking, but I am also a total nerd. I love playing Dungeons and Dragons and other RPGs.

Why I am a Mormon

My father was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, for reasons that he refuses to share he fell away. I have always had some influence from the church thanks to my grandparents. I made friends with the LDS kids in high school without even knowing it right away. I was always drawn to the church somehow. I eventually started going to church activities with my LDS friends, and eventually start looking into the the teaching of the church. While my father was raised in the church, my mother was not and did not approve of the church at all. It took many years of slow research before I was able to be baptized because I was scared of her reaction. Once I became an adult I started going to church and meeting with the missionaries. I prayed to the Lord to see if the church was true, and once that truth had been confirmed to me, it was just a matter of getting over my fear of my mother. This process took several months, but I got over my fear and on July 23, 2011, I was baptized.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church regularly, and participating in daily prayer and scripture study. I live everyday trying my best to draw closer to my Father in Heaven and the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that this sounds like a simple and generic answer, but it is true.
