Hi I'm Deborah Rumbaugh

I currently reside in Auburn, Washington. I am a wife and mother of nine children, and an educator. I am a Mormon.

About Me

As a wife and mother, my family is of utmost importance to me. Our family of nine children is what is called "blended". With five boys and four girls our lives are busy and fulfilling. I am an educator in my community, a full time doctoral student, and love all that I do. Two of my sons have served missions, one in the Dominican Republic and one in Japan. Although my extended family may not always share my beliefs, I am confident in what I know to be true about the Lord Jesus Christ. I am proud to represent my beliefs in the way I live my life and in the truths I try to emulate.

Why I am a Mormon

As a teenager, my friends introduced me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Immediately upon attending church I knew that the things I was learning and feeling were true. After meeting with the missionaries, I had a great desire to be baptized. Shortly thereafter I was an exchange student to Taiwan, I left before becoming a member of the church. I had a great desire to continue attending the church while living abroad. My host family helped me to attend church, and upon my return home, I was baptized. That was 24 years ago and I have never been happier. I have since learned that my ancestors were early pioneers of the church, leaving England and setttling the church in Salt Lake City. My famiy is my greatest joy, and such joy has been ours due to our obedience to the commandments of the Lord. We have learned these truths from the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and from a living prophet.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making every attempt to keep my baptismal covenants, obey the commandments, and live a Christ-centered life. Although not perfect, I have found that my testimony of the Lord grows as I am obedient to the covenants I have made with the Lord. I have been blessed to teach both children and adults at church. When appropriate, I talk to others about my beliefs and my testimony of the Savior. I live my faith by doing what I believe. I have tried to raise my children to do the same; we have found great peace and safety as we pray and study the Gospel on a daily basis. Living the way the Lord would want has brought us closer to Him and closer to each other. It is with gratitude and humility that I am pleased to represent my beliefs and testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ and to testify of His atoning sacrifice for us. It is through Him that we are able to live eternally as families and to progress after death.
