Hi I'm Jeremiah

I'm a Mormon. I am a happily married man and a father of three and I am a student in criminal justice.

About Me

I was raised out in the west in Arizona and lived there until about 6 years ago when I moved to Tn. to be closer to my family here. In my youth I was very unruly and did a lot of things that have impacted not just my life but the people around me. I have been a convert of the church since 1989 but was not an active member for almost 20 years. During this time I spent 2 and a half years in prison. I got out in 2002 and have never looked back. I have worked very hard to remove the years that were waisted back then. I was awarded a full aspoungment from the courts and have every one of my rights restored and am doing all that I can to teach my children and the youth in my area not to make the mistakes that I did. It has become my direction in life to try and give back all that I can to our society.

Why I am a Mormon

I was first babtized when I was a child but the fact that I fell into a world of drugs crime and alcohol ripped me away from the church for a very long time. During this time I practiced a lot of pagan religions and my life alwaays seemed to be filled with turmoil. When I was told that I had a posibly fatal liver condition I started to search my self. I thought of the things that my children would remember me for and all the things that I had been teaching them by my evil ways. The doctors told me that if I did not change my ways that I would be dead in less then 2 years, it was tiome for a change. I went back to god and the church that I knew to be true in my youth. I can truthfully say that after less than a year back inside the church my entire life has changed not for the good but for the awesome. My criminal record has been removed along with my anger issues. I am no longer a slave to the drug or crime worlds. I have been given the opertunity to go back to school and do something with my life other than waist it away. And my liver well I have had 3 huge blessings from the priesthood in my ward and along with a huge amount of prayer and new lifestyle, I have defeated the cancer that once tried to take my life. That is where my faith comes from and that is why I am a later day saint.

How I live my faith

I am a bigtime volunteer in my ward and comunity. I could not imagine my live not helping others. I do not miss church unless there is no way out of it. I help in seting up and cleaning up events in my ward. If there is any help needed from me with moving people or whatever I am there. The fealing I get from it is my new drug like adiction.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Because we believe that we should not only serve our families but also one another in order to be more like our savior Jesus Christ. So therefor all the possitions in the church are performed as a service to each other and that in itself is the payment and reward. Show more Show less
