Hi I'm Joel

I am called to be a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the México Guadalajara East mission and my service began in November 2013. I have a family consisting of 2 wonderful parents married in the Temple, an older sister —who is serving a full time mission in the Virginia Richmond mission — and 4 siblings younger than me. A brother, who is actually taller than me, a sweet sister, a brother who loves to have fun, and the cutest girl who acts older than she is. I love them all dearly and love just being with them. I have tremendous respect for the women in my life. They all are wonderful and I can't repay them all enough.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it isn't just something for today. The decisions that are made in harmony with the teaching of the Church are the ones that will lead to eternal salvation. One thing that is truly amazing about the Church that I love is the clarity in the topic of the Atonement and the merciful gift of repentance. When we make mistakes — from the smallest to greatest — they can be overcome and made clean through repentance because of the Atonement of our Savior. The decision to be Mormon is mine. I love this gospel and am excited to share the joy that comes through living the principles found within.

How I live my faith

I am a consistant example of Christ and I strive to be like Him more every day. I believe so much in His work, restored gospel, and purpose for us that I now have the opportunity to serve Him in the Mexico Guadalajara East Mission. The example I set of imperfect children of God being able to come back closer to His presence has changed my life. Through repentance and faith any trial, sin, or thought can become as snow through the Atonement of our Savior. My love for the gospel that has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith is what fuels my desire to serve as a missionary. I want others to feel of the same love and true joy that comes through righteous living in the Lord's commandments and a personal relationship with him.

What do Mormons believe about family?

The family is the central unit of our Church. It is the focus that as a family, we can all be righteous and live together forever. It is important for families to have valuable time together and strengthen those relationships that will last forever. Marriage in the temple is the biggest contributor to being an Eternal family. In the temple, couples are sealed together for time and eternity. This means all the children in the family are born into the covenant, meaning they can all live together in heaven in the presence of God. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are absolutely Christians. The name of our Church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, and I know His atonement is real and personal. Christ is at the head of the Church and the principles are in harmony with the example He set and wants for us. Show more Show less
