Hi I'm Serena

I'm a Mormon - been one my entire life. I grew up in the church, and I'm glad to have had the support from the gospel growing up.

About Me

I've been married for 6 years and have 2 children (ages 3 and 1). I'm lucky enough to be a stay at home mom, where I can raise and teach my children in the ways that I feel will help them get ready to enter the world as confident and strong LDS youth. I grew up in Washington and Nebraska, but went to college at BYU-Idaho - part of the 1st graduating class of bachelor degree students after the transition from Ricks College to BYU-Idaho. I loved my college years and made many wonderful friendships with those who had the same morals and love for life that I did. I met my husband at work, and we had a whirlwind courtship of 2 months before we were engaged and then married 5 months later. Looking back, I think it was quite fast and am sure it was a shock to my parents, but I'm glad that it all went so fast. Otherwise I might have had time to panic and stress about such a huge decision. But having the gospel in my life, I was able to feel confident in my decision since I had prayed about it and knew he was the right person to marry.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I grew up in the gospel, so I just kinda floated into the LDS religion. I'd like to say that if I hadn't been a member already, I would have joined once introduced. But I'm quite shy and don't think I would have been able to take that leap of faith to welcome the missionaries into my life and join a new religion. I think the Lord knew that about me, so I was lucky enough to start out on the right track. My husband joined the church while we were dating, so I think while going through the discussions and conversion process with him, I was able to grow and gain a firmer testimony about this gospel for myself. I know that this is the true gospel - the only one on Earth. I just feel it deep in my soul. This is the right place to be. How could it not. We have a love for life and openly welcome Christ into our homes and heart. It's a positive, and nurturing religion that loves and reaches out to others regardless of their faith.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a secretary in the presidency of the young women (ages 12-18) in my ward. I love this group of people and love seeing their faith and devotion to remain strong and clean in a world that is constantly fighting our goals. I am proud to support my husband in being a worthy priesthood holder. He does so much for our family and I am grateful to have his support and powerful faith in our home. We are eager to watch our children to grow so we can help instill in them the principles that will help them become great and remain close to the Lord.
