Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

You may be wondering, who is this Mormon named John. Let me tell you a little about myself. I am nearing my 39th birthday. When I was 6 years old I accidentally set my house on fire. I graduated high school in 1991. I have lived in the pacific northwest, the Midwest, Texas and Arizona. I have worked as a cook, pizza delivery driver, mail room clerk, automotive detailer, tire monkey, tree farm worker, janitor, vallet parking manager, kung fu instructor, etc, etc, etc. After working all those jobs I decided it was time to further my education, so I got my doctorate degree in chiropractics and am now helping relieve neck and back pain as a chiropractor in my community. My wife and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary this past year and are expecting our 10th child in a few more months. I like to read and I like to exercise using kungfu and jujustu techniques. I like to work and I like to laugh and play with my wife and children.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents took me to catholic church until I was eight years old. I liked it. But when I was eight we started attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I can distinctly remember the rightness of it. It just felt right being there. It felt wholesome. It felt good. The ideas I was taught answered so many of my questions about life. During my teenage years I began questioning some of the teachings of the church and began searching for other ideas and ways of discovering meaning in my life. That became one of the darkest times in my life. One night I decided to pray to know what to do and where to go and for help. I felt a calm reassurance that all would be well if I would just start attending the Mormon church again and live by its teachings. I followed that prompting and shortly thereafter found myself on a two year mission and after that I found a beautiful woman, both spiritualy and physically, that was willing to accept my proposal for marriage and now after many years we have 9 children and 1 on the way and we are happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by getting up early in the morning and reading from the Bible, Book of Mormon or other good spiritually edifying book for 30 minutes. Then I practice kungu and jujutsu for 30 minutes to keep in shape. I eat healthy and avoid alcohol, tobacco and other harmful drugs. I work hard to make a living for my family - which happens to be a large family. At dinner time I gather my family together and have a prayer, then we eat and talk and enjoy each others company. At bedtime I gather my family together and we read a few verses from the Book of Mormon and talk about how we can be better people. We then sing a hymn together and pray together and then go to bed and start the day all over. I bring my family to church each Sunday. Most importantly I try to avoid doing those things that most people would consider bad and try to do those things which most people would consider good.
