Hi I'm Dennis

I grew up in Southern Nevada, I am an accountant, A father, and I am a Moromon

About Me

I am an eagle scout, have been a scout master two times, and love to be in the outdoors with young people. I have hiked, canoed, and rafted several routes in Southern Nevada. I love to get out into God's country and to enjoy the simple pleasures that are afforded there. For myself, high on a mountain top is a good place to commune with God. I finished my accounting degree through the university of Phoenix. I chose this coledge because I was already working as an accountant and the flexible time frames made it possible for me to juggle my responsibilities as a husband, father, employee and church member. I had a great experience with the education I received, and I enjoy working as a controller for my employer. I enjoy gardenning, and even in Southern Nevada have had some success in growing fruit and vegitables. This year I built a trellace and planted Black Berries, Star jasmine and trumpet vines that seeme to be doing very well and have made it through the heat of the summer.. The pumpkin patch is what has my kids the most excited. The vines ahve taken over a large section of our gaden and the pumpkins are already larger than softballs. We are hoping they will be ready for Haloween. I have five of the best kisds on the plannet. They keep me busy and happy. I could not mannage it all without my sweetheart of 14 years Jenn.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the Mornmon church. I enjoyed the activities and worship services growing up, and have ahd no reason to want anything more from a religion. As I graduated high school I had the opportunity to prepare to g on a mission to Mexico. It was not until I was 19, and contemplated the costs of a two year mission and weighed it with the hard work I had done to ear that money that I had to realy be sure that this was the church that God had established. Before I could go into Mexico and tell people about this church I had to know that it was the church that God wanted for his children. I had read the Bible, The Book of Mormon, and had a regular habit of personaly talking to the lord. I went to him to question if the church that I loved so much was the true church and if I should go into the world to proclame that truth, and the truth about his son Jesus Christ. His answer hlped me feel very comfortable trading the hard earned money and two years of my time for what I regard now as two of the best years of my life. Since then I have had several personal experiences where the lord has shown me his love through the church and its members. I know that Christ is at the head of the church and that inspired men are following his directions as they lead his church.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly with my kids. My family prays together, and we read some scripture each day. Once a week, on monday we have what we call Family Home evening, and we are all at home, we play games, sing songs, jenn makes us a treat , and we talk to , teach, and learn from our children. There are many opportunities to help others, in the church. I frequently enjoy helping people to move, vissiting the eldery, helping with home improvement projects for the widows, fatherless, and elderly.
