Hi I'm Penny

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife, mother of four daughters, and an artist.

About Me

With four grown daughters, I am enjoying a wonderful new season of my life with my husband who retired professionally several years ago. We enjoy traveling to other countries and meeting new people and making new friends. Several years ago, I started oil painting which has brought me much enjoyment and success. I enjoy challenges; at forty-seven I ran a marathon. But mostly, I enjoy family events and activities. I have ten grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a fourth generation Mormon through my mother, but as a child I often attended a different church with my father's relatives. Just before turning thirteen, I personally chose to join the Mormon church because I felt at home there. The worship services were kinder, more gentle and loving. As I was taught the Plan of Salvation, I gained an understanding of Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I came to know that I am a child of God and that He loves me and wants me to return to His presence. So much so, He provided a way for this to happen through the Atonement of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. I also know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormon church, is Christ's church restored to the earth in the last days. The Bible and the Book of Mormon testify of the divinity of Jesus Christ, as Savior and Redeemer of the world. The Book of Mormon is a sacred work translated from ancient records by the prophet Joseph Smith. I would challenge you to read this book and know for yourself of its truthfulness. I love the Bible, but I know that many plain and precious truths have been lost or distorted because of so many different translations throughout the ages. It brings me great comfort to know that families can be eternally bound together through sacred ordinances performed in the Lord's holy temples. My faith, my hope, and all my expectations are centered in Jesus Christ and His glorious gospel.

How I live my faith

Presently, my husband and I are serving as missionaries in our area supporting the full-time missionaries. In the past, I have had many opportunities to teach and serve the youth and women in the church and community. Serving others is the essence of Christ's church because when we serve others we are serving God.
