Hi I'm Steve

I grew up in Utah, I love music, I love to play Ultimate Frisbee, I'm an aspiring audiologist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of four. I have two amazing parents that have supported me consistently and lovingly all my life. I am the 3rd of four children and the only boy. I always wished I had a little brother or something, but I really can't complain because I've blessed with three awesome sisters and three equally awesome brothers-in-law. I currently attend graduate school, in pursuit of my AuD (Doctorate of Audiology Degree). People always ask me why I choose to be an audiologist. In all honesty, it just kind of happened. I used to be a chemistry major - which obviously didn't work out all that well - and just started taking a variety of classes. Once I took my first audiology course, I enjoyed it enough that I decided to give it a shot. Now, I can proudly say that I'm an nerd of the ear, and I find joy in helping others with hearing loss improve their quality of life. I have a little bit of a competitive edge, so naturally I like to play sports and other games. The only sport I can confidently admit I'm good at is Ultimate Frisbee. It is such a fun and liberating sport, even though sometimes I get a little TOO competitive. :) Music is also another part of my life. I love to write, sing, play, and listen to music. I also love to read, good food, and the great outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a Mormon, and so has a long line of my ancestors. Honestly, it is who I am. It is my identity, and it gives my life meaning. Some would think that I'm a Mormon simply because it is such a significant part of my lineage; that it is a tradition that I feel obligated to uphold. I do deeply care about what my family thinks of me and the choices I make, but that isn't why I'm a Mormon. I'm a Mormon because I KNOW that it's true. Through my own personal experiences, I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father, that Jesus Christ atoned for the sins of the world, that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore Christ's church on the earth again, that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the words of God, and that our current prophet, Thomas S. Monson, is truly God's mouthpiece for the world today.

How I live my faith

I attend weekly church meetings every Sunday to worship will those that share my faith. I set apart every Sunday to the pursuits of my faith, my family, and myself. I study the scriptures and try to adhere to their teachings. I enjoy helping people and serve them when I can.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

The temple is the house of the Lord, and is therefore treated with respect and reverence. There, we have the opportunity to learn eternal truths and make special promises with God. He, in return, promises us special blessings. The blessing that I most appreciate is that of eternal families: that I can live with my family forever and that we will never be apart. That really means a lot to me. Show more Show less
