Hi I'm Eric

I'm a student. I'm an IT major. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended Brigham Young University- Idaho for a year. I am majoring in computer science. I am an Eagle in Boy Scouts of America. Currently I am preparing for a mission in Honduras San Pedro Sula East. I do enjoy reading books, sports, and the occasional playing of my Xbox and Gamecube.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. My family goes to to church every Sunday and participates in Sunday school and Priesthood/Relief Society. Not going to church makes me feel different almost sad through the week. I have had many trials and challenges in my life, some greater and more serious than others. With the atonement i was able to feel clean and worthy again. To me every aspect of the Gospel makes sense, nothing seems wrong. From the Word of Wisdom to the Articles of Faith, the Gospel feels right and true. I love surrounding myself with good and caring people. School seems a like as if it is a huge trial by itself. Not just because it is mentally challenging by the school work, but from all the drama and the atmosphere of bad language and the many desires that are not good. But finding the right friends that devote themselves to God help me and make me feel good. There are students that have good hearts and are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I try to become friends with them too. True happiness and knowledge comes from the true church, and that is what I yearn for.

How I live my faith

I try to read my scriptures and pray at least twice a day, this helps build a constant barrier and my testimony everyday. I go home teaching every month, when I go home teaching I bring church messages to the families and me and my father (my companion) bond with them and attend to their needs, essentially to become Priesthood holders and people the families they can lean on and depend on. As my mission date nears I do what I can to prepare the best I can do for that. Whether that is studying my scriptures, studying Preach My Gospel, or adjusting my lifestyle of a missionary.
