Hi I'm Robert L. Gunnell

I love my wife and children...I love my country...I love my God...and I am Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona to parents that instilled a great work ethic through personal responsibility (and a lot of physical labor.) I am honored to be their son and the oldest brother to the best of the best siblings. We are very close and get together often. I married one of my best friends in high school after serving a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Washington. After 23 years of marriage, we have 5 beautiful children who represent goodness and honor. Our home is very busy and I love every minute of it. We try our best to live according to the teachings of Christ and do to others as we would have done to us. We have a great love of each other and the fun times we have together. Nothing beats family togetherness, family love, the best companion to be with forever and the greatest children on earth. I work for an upstart clean energy technology company that will change the world for such good in short order. I love my job and the people that I have the privilege of working with. I look forward to work at the start of each day, and look forward to coming home to the greatest family on earth each night. Stressed sometimes? Beyond belief. Is it worth it? No doubt about it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that this is Christ’s church and He is the head of it, receiving this knowledge through personal revelation many years ago. God guides and governs His desires and affairs for His children through a living prophet and apostles today. What a comfort to know that He lives and communicates with us. Our oldest son is currently serving a full time mission for the Lord in the Midwest of the United States, teaching others of Christ’s service and sacrifice for us. My testimony of the Savior and his ministry is strengthened with each communication we have with him, as he testifies and explains to those who listen to the teachings of the Lord. What a blessing to be able to serve Him full time with no distractions. This single act by a loving son, brother, grandson and cousin has brought a whole new level of blessings to our family. I love being a Mormon. Unique, intriguing, distinctive and interesting, we are a rare people. But when Christ was on the earth, wasn’t He the same? I believe and know that we are this way because we have the truth of Christ’s gospel and we live it. Being Mormon isn’t a Sunday event, but every day of the week. I wouldn’t want it any other way because of the peace, comfort and hope that I know.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by example, although sometimes falling short, I know I can repent, renew and try again. That is what the gospel of Jesus Christ allows for. Simple and straight forward, living the gospel gives peace, comfort and knowledge of life eternal with my family. What better gift than to know of Father’s plan for me, for my family and for us all, His children. Having been asked most recently how I ‘know’ that the Mormon faith is true, my answer is simple: Pray to God and you can know too. God, our Father, wants you to know He is real and cares personally about you. Just like our own earthly father, our Heaven Father loves each of us as we love our own children. Is there anything you wouldn’t give your own children if they ask, having the ability? So it is with our God. Seek after Him and He will enlighten you to know the truth of all things. Finally, look to the faith and truth that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds for its members. If something is true, it speaks not only to the mind but to the spirit; a feeling of realness and certainty. With prayers of real intent, you may know through revelation from our Father the truthfulness of the Lord's church - The gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth today...and you have found it.
