Hi I'm Jared Tolman

I have lived in Meridian, Idaho my entire life. I love to play the violin and go dirtbiking. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love power sports! Dirt-biking, cars, boating, etc. I love it all! I'm a college student majoring in Business, with the goal of getting an MBA. I recently returned from serving in The Great Ohio Columbus and Cincinnati Missions. It was the best experience of my entire life. I love the Lord and love life. I'm living the dream!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been born and raised in the gospel. I always believed in the church and knew that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. however, during my freshman year of high school, I was bullied by other students about being "Mormon." It really bothered me. I tried to ignore them and move on but after a while it started to get to me. Then, in seminary we read Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation..." That was just what I needed. I began praying and reading the scriptures and really wanting to know for a surety that this was indeed the true church. I know that through study and prayer with my Heavenly Father that I was able to have a reassuring peace and comfort, knowing that the church was true. There was no doubt in my mind. From that point on I went from being shy about the church to being very open. If people had questions about the church I had no problem addressing them and answering them the best I could. I did a project in school about the church for a project on our personal beliefs. I was worried about how it would be taken, but it went very well. I'm grateful for the gospel. I know the church is true. I know Joseph Smith is a true prophet. I have stood in the sacred grove and have felt the spirit of that holy and sacred place. I have a testimony of the atonement and have seen it work miracles in my own life, and in the lives of others. I have a strong testimony of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is my savior. I love him, and strive to serve him the best I can.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to become what my Savior would have me be; that is, like Him. I study the scriptures and seek for guidance and revelation. I love the spirit that comes to me as I read from the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. I pray to my Heavenly Father to express my thanks and gratitude for all I have been given, for all the people in my life, and for my Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray that He will bless those who may be struggling with trials in their life, and plead for forgiveness for things which I have done. I pray for understanding and for opportunities to help His children. I go to church to partake of the sacrament (communion), where I remember and re-commit to live the covenants or promises I made with God to always remember Jesus Christ, take His name upon me, and to follow his commandments that He has given us. I served a mission in the Columbus, Ohio and Cincinnati, Ohio missions. It was the greatest experience of my life. As missionaries and representatives of Christ, we invited people to learn of Him, to read the Book of Mormon, to pray to our Heavenly Father, and then to repent and prepare to be baptized by one holding the proper, restored, priesthood authority of God. I came to love the people of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana and will continue to thank my Heavenly Father for those experiences for as long as I live.
