Hi I'm Wayne

I am a traveler. I love the outdoors and I am a Mormon!

About Me

My family means everything to me and I find the greatest satisfaction when I am with them. My wife and I have 4 wonderful kids who mean the world to us. Our oldest daughter is in college and playing volleyball, while the other 3 kids are in Junior High and Elementary School. This closeness in family has been defined in me as a child as my fondest memories have been those times spent with loved ones and family. It became even more important when my wife and I lost identical twin daughters one month before they were to be born. This event has has had a significant impact on my life and beliefs as I really had to think about the why and what happens after this life. We enjoy traveling with our kids to the beach each summer and spending time in the mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because this gospel gives me the answers to where I came from, why I am here and what is after this life. I know that I will have an opportunity to see my twin daughters that have passed on and that gives me great comfort. Yes I was raised in the Mormon church and my family goes way back to the early days of the church. My great great Grandfather was in the original pioneer party that entered Salt Lake City and was one of founders of Mesa, AZ. That being said, I still needed to find out for myself that this gospel was true. Shortly before I went on a mission for the church I spent a lot of time reading the scriptures and praying about them. It was during those times that I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me of the truthfulness of this gospel and I will always do my best to live it throughout the rest of my life. I am grateful to be a Mormon and am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who sent our elder brother Jesus Christ to die for us and to pay for my sins. I am so grateful for the attonement and the ability it provides all of us to be forgiven if we take certain steps.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by making sure that my interactions with those at church and throughout the week are a reflection of my beliefs. Is it easy to always do this, no but I always strive to set the right example. I also teach Sunday School class every other week to adults and I find great spiritual nourishment learning from others comments and seeing the love of Jesus Christ. As a member of the Church I go out every month to visit two families in our church to see how they are doing and what we can do to help them. When I think back on it the role of service and doing things for others is what it is all about. Wasn't Christ's Atonement and death on the the cross the greatest level of Service and are we not supposed to be like Him. I hope that I can continue to live my faith in greater levels by providing more service and helping those throughout my community.
