Hi I'm Dave

I grew up in Connecticut and Georgia. I speak Spanish. I help people start businesses, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Atlanta, Georgia area where many of my friends were Methodist and Southern Baptists. It really helped me to understand that we are all Christians who believe in and follow the Savior! I served a church mission in Uruguay for two years where I taught from the scriptures about Jesus Christ. After my mission, I attended Ricks College where I met my beautiful wife. We transferred to and graduated from BYU with a degree in International Business. Go Cougars! We have 6 children who keep us very busy. Our family is involved with a number of sports, choirs, and theatre activities in and around town. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing games, going camping, and the occasional basketball game. Most of my days are spend in business development and sales.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS household with parents who both grew up in the church. I enjoyed my upbringing in a home where I knew that I was loved and appreciated. My parents taught me and my siblings the gospel of Jesus Christ and encouraged us to study and learn the scriptures on our own. I was never told what I had to do or believe, but rather, I was given the direction from my folks as to how I could find out what I needed to do to know for myself. I spend time as a youth, reading the scriptures, praying, and practicing my religion. I was not perfect. As I lived my religion, I found that my faith and testimony in Jesus Christ and in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints grew. I took the challenge in the Book of Mormon to read, ponder, and pray to know the truth of what I was taught. When I prayed, I felt that peaceful feeling of confidence and assurity that what I had read and was taught was true. I have been blessed in my life to have a testimony of the power of prayer. I know that God lives and answers our prayers. I am a Mormon because I know that the teaching of the Savior will bring my happiness and joy in this live and the hope of a better life with Him after this life. I am a Mormon because I follow Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to serve in a number of positions in the church. I have taught the youth as well as Sunday school, and other adult classes. I have had a few leadership positions in the different congregations where we have lived. I really have enjoyed teaching. I even spent a year or so teaching Spanish language lessons to missionaries in the Missionary Training Center in Utah. I think that it is great that the members of the congregation each have the opportunity to help, serve, and teach one another without looking for some kind of payment or reward. Christ taught us to serve.
