Hi I'm Derick

I grew up in Rexburg Idaho. I'm an Eagle Scout. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hi i'm Derick, I grew up in Rexburg Idaho. I am an Eagle Scout, My hobbies include anything outdoors! I love hunting, camping, rock climbing, mountain biking, long boarding, and skate boarding. I played football in high school and wouldn't mind playing in college. Right now I am serving a mission in Houston Texas and when I get home I plan on going to college at either ISU in Pocatello, or BYU-Idaho in Rexburg. If I go to ISU then I will be studying to become a police officer, if I go to BYU-Idaho then I will be studying to be a teacher

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon for a couple of reasons, One reason is because I was born into this church, another reason is because this is the only other church who has the standards that I choose to live by, and the third reason is because I cant imagine going to any other church! Doing my research I have found that this is the only church that if you live by all of the rules and commandments that the Prophets and God give us then you are doing everything that God has asked of us to do which means that if I live by these standards 100 percent God has promised me a place in Heaven right by his side. And that is all motivation that I need to keep Gods commandments and remain a faithful member of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

Right now I am living my faith by serving a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints. Pretty much when a boy turns 19 he is given the opportunity to serve a volunteer mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and go out any place in the world where he is called and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ for 2 years and put away worldly things and try to become closer to God and Jesus Christ while doing so. At the end of my mission I plan on living a normal life by going to school, getting married, and starting a family. I will teach my children the teachings of the church so that my posterity will keep the faith and follow the teachings and commandments of God. Right now I live my faith by following the standards of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints.
