Hi I'm Richard Rawlings

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the church and have been involved in the church all my life.

About Me

I enjoy listening to music ranging from classical to rock to symphonic rock, in fact, you will usually find me with at least one ear bud in at all times. Also, I enjoy playing my saxophone when I can and love playing any type of music I can get. I raced go-karts when I was younger and I currently enjoy riding four-wheelers with my family. I play a lot of video games my favorite is the Final Fantasy series and the Kingdom Hearts series as well as playing Rock Band with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have been active all my life. As a teenager, I got into some trouble with the law and found myself in a place and headed in a direction that I knew that I did not want to be going. At that time of my life, I really did not have a strong testimony of the Gospel and of the church, I was relying on those around me and following after them. As I worked with church leaders and my parents, I was able to straiten my life out and I developed a testimony that my Savior lives, that He loves me as well as everyone else, and that he does forgive us of our sins and will lift and strengthen those that turn unto him. I am so grateful unto him for all that he has done for me in my life in helping me through one of the darkest times in my life as well as through all other times that I have needed him.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission for the church in Columbus Ohio. I am loving being out among the people able to devote my time and talents to the Lord full time for these two years. Before my mission I was a teacher in the primary teaching the young children about the Gospel. At first I was unsure about it, but as I learned to rely on the Lord he helped me out and I was able to teach the children and help them grow in the Gospel and that has helped me a lot as a missionary because I know that it does not matter what I can do, it is the Lord that will help me and help the people that I teach to understand my imperfect teaching.
