Hi I'm Marcus

I ride BMX. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon. Chee - uh

About Me

I am a sophomore under scholarship at a community college, earning my Associate in Science. The rest of my time I am either with my fam, riding my bike, or spending time with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom was attending another church and found herself meeting with missionaries. She married my dad, who was a member of the church, and since then my family grew from two to six. I grew up in the church, but just doing the little things, feeling it was right, but I never asked God if it was true. When I was twelve, I decided I needed to know for myself. Even though I was only twelve years old, I realized that if I wanted to know that the church was true and all the things I had been taught and will be taught are true, I had to act. I realized, I had better study a little about those things, meditate what they mean, and ask humbly to our Heavenly Father in the Name of Christ that the Holy Spirit could let me know if these things are true. He did.

How I live my faith

I'm not perfect, but I try to maintain daily scripture study, praying, attending all my church meetings, paying my tithing, and helping others in my community.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

The Church does not pay those who serve because it wouldn't be service if they did. When I work I do it to see a pay check and to support myself. On the other hand, when I serve I do it to see others be happier and to support them. Show more Show less
