Hi I'm Andrew

I love the ukulele and yoga. I am studying pre-med and exercise science at BYU. I love life. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Although I was born in Utah, I spent my high school years in Maine. I participated on my school's cross country, track, swim, ski, tennis, and basketball teams. I performed in several musicals and plays during middle school and high school. I love music. I play the piano, guitar, and the ukulele (my personal favorite). I just got back from Japan, where I served a two year proselyting mission for my church. It was awesome! Now, I am back at BYU, where I am studying pre-med and exercise science. I am not sure what kind of doctor I want to be yet, but I think becoming a psychiatrist like my Mom would be fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born that way. The real question is, "Why am I still a Mormon?" The truth is, I can't envision myself not being Mormon. My whole life is circled around my belief in Christ, and what I must do while on this earth in order to get back to Him. As a Mormon, I know where I came from (living with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ), why I am here (to receive a body and gain experience from the trials that are a necessary part of life on earth), and where I am going (back to live with my Heavenly Father along with my family for eternity). If I didn't know these things I would feel lost. I also find that there is so much joy in following the guidelines that will lead me back to live with my Heavenly Father. I find immense joy and peace in obeying God's teachings. It feels good to know I am doing what is right. It feels good to know that when I make mistakes, which I do often, I can be washed clean of those mistakes. There is immense peace in knowing that all I need to do is my best, and Jesus Christ will make up the rest, as long as I am willing to trust in Him and repent. When something is right, it just feels good. I don't really know in my head that this church is the right path for me, but it is something I feel in my heart and that feeling grows stronger everyday as I continue to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to stay true to God and spending time with the people I care about most. I also live my faith by developing the talents that God has blessed me with, and using them to serve others. I love to play the ukulele and sing. I have been playing and singing at elderly homes for the last 5 years. It makes me so happy to know that I made a difference in the life of someone else just because I sang a simple song. The elderly are so appreciative. Another thing I love to do is yoga. I believe that the yoga and the gospel of Jesus Christ go hand in hand. Yoga helps me feel relaxed throughout the day and helps me live a healthy lifestyle. Because it has helped me grow so much I try to involve the people around me in yoga. I lead yoga groups and invite anyone who wants to to come and join me. This gives me the opportunity to make new friends, and share my way of life with others.
