Hi I'm Cathie

I'm a pediatric anesthesiologist. I'm a wife & working mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Corvallis, Oregon--I didn't move until I went away to college. Since that time I've completed medical school, internship, residency & fellowship on the East Coast and took my first "big" trip overseas to Iraq to serve my country. While I'm not what many view as the "traditional" Mormon woman, I love what I do both in & out of the home. I get to help my patients & have a wonderful family to come home to. I love music, baking cookies, playing with my daughter, gardening, sewing, reading and taking naps whenever I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family of Mormons. Generations of my family have been members of the Church--many of my ancestors left England to come to the US after the became Mormon. Growing up I enjoyed being Mormon because it made me different--not many people where I lived were members. I love the peace the Gospel gives me. Being Mormon helps answer many of life's questions and helps me feel that I am not alone in this big world. I love knowing that I am a Child of God.

How I live my faith

At church I teach music to children ages 18mo to 11 years old. It is so fun! I love helping them learn gospel truths & principles during music. I especially love it because they make me laugh! I love feeling the spirit & the love of Jesus & my Heavenly Father through music.
