Hi I'm Rob

I'm a husband married to a wonderful lady, a father of two awesome young ladies, I served my country for 22 years and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am new convert to the church. I married a wonderful LDS lady and avoided joining the church for 18 years. I became interested in the church after I retired from the Air Force. My youngest daughter was learning about the plan of salvation from our missionaries and I chose to sit in and listen to what they were teaching my daughter. I was touched by the Spirit while I was reading the Scriptures and watching a movie about Joseph Smith. I am so blessed to have softened my heart and listened to the Gospel. I truly believe my family has been blessed! I was baptized with my youngest daughter and I had the honor of performing the baptism of my oldest daughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been searching for God's Light most of my adult life. I was very active in another church in my youth but I always sensed there was something missing. I remember praying many times during my deployments for the Lord's help and protection. I prayed many times during my months in the Air Force for God's guidance. I felt repeated promptings to apply for a job in Washington State. I didn't have any family or friends in Washington but I applied anyway and was hired to start in July of 2009. We rented a home in a neighborhood with a friendly and dedicated member of the Mormon Church. He met my wife during a garage sale and my wife's home State of Utah came up in the discussion. Our new friend asked her if she was Mormon and she said yes. From that day forward we were enveloped in the love and friendship of our Ward. Their kindness stuck me to the core and my youngest daughter was immediately attracted to these kind people and their peaceful and loving nature. My daughter began seminary immediately and began taking lessons from the missionaries. I was interested in listening to what the missionaries were teaching and the rest is history!

How I live my faith

I love my calling in the church! I am a Sunday school teacher for 14-15 year old boys and girls. I really enjoy researching for my lessons because it gives me the opportunity to learn more about the scriptures and our Heavenly Father's plan. I enjoy helping others in our church. We help our members pack up their homes when they move, we help elderly members with the up keep of their properties and we help the local community in the same way. We really do love helping others and giving back!
