Hi I'm Brittany

I live in Seattle with my husband and 2 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up mostly in Arizona and Utah and gradutated from the University in Utah as a Registered Nurse. I worked in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit for 8 years and loved every minute! I was married 6 years ago and now have a beautiful family - one little boy and little girl...and one on the way! I'm a stay-at-home mom now and enjoy the time to focus on my family. Some of the things I love to do are baking, traveling, reading, snowboarding, and being in the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is at the core of who I am. Because of the Gospel I understand who I am, where I came from, and why I'm here on earth. Just knowing that I'm a daughter of God and that my Heavenly Father knows me personally and loves me, fills me with peace a nd happiness. I love the knowledge of why I am here on earth. The fact that there is a purpose to life here on earth, that we are here to learn and progress, that I have a mission to accomplish... it fills me with purpose and resolve. I am so thankful to have been blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. Everything that I learn through the scriptures, church and personal study of the Gospel helps me to be a better person... a better mother, wife, daughter and friend. I love the Gospel with all of my heart. I love my Savior and know that He lives. He atoned for my sins and because of His sacfrifice I can repent of my mistakes and return to live my Heavenly Father some day. I know that through the ordinances performed in the temple I can be sealed to my family for eternity. The Gospel means everything to me! It brings hope and light into life. It gives guidance and direction for every little aspect of my life. I love it.

How I live my faith

Currently I work with the youth in our local congregation of the church. The LDS church has an organization called the Young Women and Young Men. I'm the president of the Young Women's group. With the help of other adult leaders, we teach gospel classes on Sunday to the girls - ages 12 to 18. We split up in smaller age groups and discuss gospel principles. We talk about the pressures that they face every day at school and with friends and the decisions that they have to make. We try to bolster their faith and understanding of the Gospel so that they will be strong and have high morals - make decisions that will bring lasting happiness and success. We also have weekly activities every Wednesday evening. At these activities we do many different things including service projects, physical activities (like hiking), learning all kinds of skills, and spiritual lessons/discussions. Once a month we combine with the young men for the activity. The youth love the activities! I really enjoy building relationships with the young women.
