Hi I'm Eric

I grew up in Arizona. I'm graduating in May 2012. I'm married and expecting our first child. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work full time and I'm a student in my last year of college studying Business. I plan on going to Law School in the next few years. I've been married for 2 years now to the most beautiful girl who is my best friend and we are expecting our first child in a few months! I love playing sports whenever I can. Family means everything to me and I am glad that I am close with mine and able to see them and talk with them often.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon today because I have seen just how living the principles of the gospel blesses a person's life. If you ever want to know if something is the real deal- then test it out and live what it is claiming. If you want to know if some study method, diet, or work out routine really works then honestly follow it's plan and live it and see if you get the results. I have done that with the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and have come to find out for myself that they really are the teachings of Christ. And when I live them I am happy. It doesn't always mean my life is easy or perfect, but I am happy and have peace and understanding. I recognize how the organization of Christ's church in the Bible was set up and I see that the LDS/Mormon church today mirrors that church with baptism by immersion, a lay ministry, the priesthood power and keys, tithing, service, scriptures, modern day revelation from a modern day prophet, temples, and more. Sincere prayer- like just talking with God and listening to the thoughts and feelings I get while doing so- is a major foundation of my faith. He has answered every single prayer. Maybe not immediately or even in the way I thought would be best, but he always answers when I ask. And recognizing his answers/hand in my life is one of the best feelings you can ever experience. It reminds you that there is so much more in plan than just this short life. He wants us to return to him and is looking out for our well-being. That is why he has extablished his church on earth once again just like he did all throughout the past.

How I live my faith

I try to read the scriptures and pray everyday. I am a sunday school teacher every Sunday for 12-13 year olds. It is fun to prepare the lessons and have the kids learn about the scriptures and how the gospel helps them to live happy lives. I am the service coordinator for our area. I organize volunteers to help people when they are moving in our out of the area or other service opportunities that come up. Service is a major part of the church. It's not easy to find time to serve others when everyone is so busy, but when we do we feel that feeling in our hearts that we know it's a good thing. In our church we try and look out for each other and their needs. The church is huge so we organize ourselves by dividing up the work. So we assign 2-4 families to each team of men in our church to visit once a month and teach a short message and also check on that family to see what we can do to help them in anyway. It is also a great way to strenghten the church unity. We become a close knit family in that way. A lot of the guys from the church get together once a week to play basketball at our church building. That is also a great way for us to bond and connect with the church members.
