Hi I'm April Hardy

I'm a stay at home mom with 3 kids. I love to make crafts and am currently training for my second 1/2 marathon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mom, sister, daughter, niece, grand daughter, and aunt. I graduated from ASU with my Bachelors in Nutrition and Food Service Management 3 years ago. I am currently a stay at home mom with my 3 kids. I have a 2 daughters and a son. I have moved around a lot, as a kid/teen I went to 3 different elementary schools and 4 different high schools. I have lived all over the U.S. Since being married we are in our 4th place of residence. We have finally found a place we love and can call home and stay put for awhile. I have recently taken up running. Last year I completed a half marathon and in a few short weeks I will complete another one.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because when my father was a teen he converted to the church, he moved to be with his brother who was the only active member in his family. He left his home in Mississippi and moved in with my uncle in New Orleans. Where he met my mom, who had been a member all her life. When he met her he knew that the one principle that intrigued him during his conversion was going to become a reality. That he was going to have an eternal family. A month after high school graduation they drove from New Orleans to Washington D.C. to be married and sealed in the temple. My father has always stressed the importance of families, and the knowledge that a family can be forever. That was where my testimony started as a child. My favorite song in Primary was Families Can Be Together Forever. I still tear up when singing it, it has taken on a whole new meaning now that I have my own family. I want to be with them forever. I was married and sealed to my husband in the temple to ensure that the promise of having our family with us in the eternity was possible to us. My fathers testimony of families was just the spark to get the ball rolling for him to see what was truely important in life. It greatly stregnthened my testimony and gave me the opportunity to be a member of this great church. Of this great work.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in the Relief Society Presidency. The Relief Society is such a magnificient organization. It's a place where the women of the ward come to feel a sisterhood, a friend, and support. I get to be apart of a committee that puts together activities to help stregnthen the women in our boundaries and give them opportunities outside of church on Sun to be enlightened by fun, uplifiting activities. I love it. It's a lot of fun. I enjoy being creative. I live my faith by serving others in community. When someone has a new baby I try to bring a meal, we bring a gift. When someone new has moved into our boundaries we make it a point to go over and visit with them.
