Hi I'm Shane

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I can hardly wait for fall to come around each year as college football is my favorite sport to watch (I am a Ute fan, and increasingly a Sun Devil fan). I take after my father in my love for history. I enjoy getting outdoors and going on hikes with my wife and kids. I am also pursuing an ongoing study of the Chinese language. I learned Mandarin Chinese on a church mission to Taiwan. I am currently working for Union Pacific.

Why I am a Mormon

I have ancestors that settled in North America in the 16 and 1700's. Some of my ancestors’ descendants joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and eventually moved west across North America. I am one of those descendants. I'm a Mormon. Since I grew up in a Mormon family early on I was able to test my faith. Every time I have sincerely sought to find the truth I have found confirmation that the principles and doctrines taught in the church are those that Christ taught and would have us follow. I know that the Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ that further establishes the truth of the bible and "that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the world; and that all men must come unto him, or they cannot be saved" (The first book of Nephi chapter 13 verse 40).

How I live my faith

My kids get so excited on Monday because that is when we hold Family Home Evening. It is a time we spend together discussing gospel topics, playing games, and enjoying treats. I also strive to improve each day by remembering the perfect example, Jesus Christ.
