Hi I'm Kix Conger

I'm 21 years old. I served a two-year mission in Chile Rancagua. I'm the second of five children. And of course, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a very positive attitude towards life. In today's world it's easy to see how much fear, depression, hate, distrust, and other negative attitudes are somewhat dominant in society. During the course of my mission, I had a lot of "growing up" occur you could say. I found out what kind of man I want to be and that I didn't want to live life being scared of making mistakes, and I didn't want to allow my emotions to control me instead of me controlling my emotions. Developing self-control and learning how to reach my potential liberated me from many of the worries and problems that had bothered me so much before my mission. I now enjoy life in as many aspects as possible! I love to have new experiences, learn new skills, and meet new people. Although I'm very far from perfect, I firmly believe that by facing the future with optimism and faith we can always find true and consistent happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received an answer from God, by the power of the Holy Ghost, declaring to me that the Book of Mormon is true. If it were not for this book I would not be where I am or even who I am. Because I know that this book is true, I also know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. Because of his outstanding faith he was privileged with seeing and speaking with God, our Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. They guided and taught Joseph, helping him to translate the Book of Mormon and to restore the Church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I know that that same God still speaks with one of His prophets on the earth today, whose name is Thomas S. Monson. I know that this is His Church not by the power or wisdom of man, but that of God.

How I live my faith

My faith is clearly expressed in the way that I live. I make daily decisions based on my faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, and my hope is to be more like Him each and every day. I've come to love studying the word of God each day, in particular The Book of Mormon. This book is what allowed me to believe That Jesus Christ is my Savior and redeemer, and that there is a plan that has been made by our Heavenly Father which allows us to learn, progress, and live happily throughout all eternity. I seek to be a light for others in any situation that I can. I have seen on many occasions that men and women can have a profound difference in their own lives and the lives of others when they are willing to set aside their pride and give selfless service. Such service has been the most amazing blessing in my life. As Christ said: "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it" (Matthew 16:25). Such has been the case with me, and I hope to now be able to help other find themselves.
