Hi I'm Jeff Brown

I grew up in Yucaipa, CA. Played Baseball for Orange Coast College, BYU, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Became a CPA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for over 24 years and am proud to be the Father of six children. I grew up wanting to be a Professional Athlete. I liked all sports but concentrated on Football and Baseball in High School. I was honored to receive the Ken Hubbs award (Outstanding County overall athlete of the year). Orange Coast College recruited me for Baseball and I was a starter my freshman year. I served a full time Mission in Curitiba, Brazil. My Mission was the most critical spiritual learning experience of my life. It helped me to understand who I was and what I could become in life with Heavenly Fathers help. I returned from Brazil and started again for Orange Coast during my 2nd college baseball season. I received a full athletic Baseball scholarship to BYU and I started in right field for the Cougars my Junior and Senior years. I was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers after my senior year and played at every level of the minor leagues over a three year period. I graduated from CSUSB in Accounting and worked for Ernst & Young for 4.5 years during which time I passed the CPA exam and received my CPA designation. I worked as a Controller/CFO for approximately 10 years. I obtained my Series 7 securities license before acquiring my CPA practice. I currently own and manage my own CPA practice and perform retirement planning for my clients.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS Church but gained for myself a personal testimony of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ in my early teenage years. I received a very strong witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon as I prepared to serve a full time mission in Brazil. The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart as I studied and pondered. The Book of Mormon is a second witness of Jesus Christ comparable to the Bible. I know we have a living Prophet on the earth today and it is very important to follow his council.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a Sunday School Teacher for the 16 year old youth class. This year we are studying the New Testament. I love teaching these young women and young men at such an impressionable time of their lives. I am doing my best to help them gain a testimony of their Savior Jesus Christ. They are learning to follow the example He taught and lived. They need to know for themselves that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of all mankind.
