Hi I'm Justin

I'm a husband who loves his wife, I'm a father who loves his children, I'm a teacher who loves his students, and...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While I have always been a sports enthusiast, both as a participant and as an observer, an avid reader and a lover of the outdoors, I have found that my love for these activities has been heightened with the inclusion of my family. Going swimming with my wife and daughter or watching my daughter do "cartwheels" in the yard takes sports to a whole new level. Gathering in my daughter's room and listening to my wonderful wife read books at bed time has increased the joy I find in reading. And there is nothing greater than camping and hiking with a four year old. And with my wife expecting a son, I can only see things getting better.

Why I am a Mormon

I haven't always been as active as I should have been. I grew up in the church, and went on Sundays, but I never really understood the importance of being focused on Christ. That is, of course, until my freshman year of college. I was at a party at one of the local fraternities and, as I looked around at what surrounded me, I realized that this wasn't the life I wanted. It was then that I turned my attention back to what I knew would bring true happiness: Jesus Christ and his gospel. One year later, I left for my mission and haven't looked back since at the life I left behind. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of our Heavenly Father, and that if we understand and rely upon the teachings and atonement of Jesus Christ, we can feel true happiness in this life and in the life to come.

How I live my faith

For two years now, I have taught the high school-aged youth of our area in what is known as early-morning seminary. Every morning at 6:00 am, my students voluntarily show up at the home of one of our members and study the gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the Holy Scriptures. While this may sound like a difficult position, I have found that the blessings of teaching such a class far outweigh the sacrifices made to teach it.
