Hi I'm Corinne

I'm a semstress, a reader, a full-time mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Omaha, NE and have a special place in my heart for the Midwest. I met my wonderful husband Steve while he was attending Creighton Dental School and we now live here in Arizona! I am a busy mom of 3 beautiful girls, with our first boy on the way and I am lucky enough to get to do it fulltime. I love being a mom and most everything that comes with it! When I do get time to myself, you will probably find me sewing, reading a book, or watching the history channel. I love reading fantasy and historical fiction. And yes, I am a Harry Potter fan! I also love to create things with fabric. I especially like making costumes for my kids, so Halloween is always a fun time of year for me. My other passion is the outdoors. I love to camp and hike anything that takes me out into the beautiful world God created for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the church. I never really questioned or doubted my beliefs, but I made a decision in my early 20’s that my faith needed to be totally mine and not my parents’. I had a strong feeling that I needed to serve a mission and teach the gospel to others. My knowledge became conviction when I was fully immersed in teaching my beliefs. When I live my daily life in line with the teachings of the Mormon Church and the Savior Jesus Christ, I feel more peace, contentment, and happiness. Those teachings also give me purpose for the daily things I do. The knowledge of who I am and why I am here helps me to be a better wife and mother. When I find myself getting frustrated or annoyed I know that peace and perspective is just a prayer away.

How I live my faith

I try to follow Jesus Christ, because I know he is the only perfect example we have. I make mistakes with my parenting, marriage, and friendships daily! I pray and ask God for help. I know He is literally my Father in Heaven. I try to listen to His spirit and let him lead and guide me in my everyday life. When my prayers are really from the heart and really a communication from a daughter to a Father, I feel peace. I have more patience and love for my own kids. Part of my faith is service. Because we are all children of God, each person I come in contact with is my brother or sister. I love to think about people in that endearing way. It helps me feel more compassion and love for others. It also increases my desire to help where I can. I am far from perfect, but every day I try to be a little better and do a little more. Hopefully one small step at a time I will become more and more like Jesus Christ.
