Hi I'm Heather

I believe finding balance is a lifetime pursuit. I sometimes burn the beans. I love to laugh. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm learning each day how to be a better wife and mother...and oh is that an adventure! I love it! The whole experience is such an exciting challenge. I struggle with finding balance between meeting my own needs and and the needs of my family, fulfilling my responsibilities at church, taking care of my home, and all other things involved in the life of a woman. BUT...I know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and his helping guide me through this maze of life. I know that I find greater balance in life because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I sometimes burn the beans, or any other meal for that matter. BUT...when I do, I am learning to just laugh. Mistakes add flavor to life. They help me grow stronger because I learn from them and choose to be a better person for what I have learned. And I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can be forgiven for my sinful mistakes and can receive enabling power to become what He knows I can become. I consider myself a 'Jane of All Trades, Master of None' because there are just so many fun things to experience in this life. On any given day you may find me: cooking, sewing, drawing, weeding, mowing, painting, running, serving, cleaning, walking, washing, driving, shopping, swimming, playing, watching, baking, eating, organizing, creating, and loving, among many other things that bring me joy in this life!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that it was brought to us through a modern prophet, Joseph Smith, with whom our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ spoke face to face. I know Joseph was called of God to restore truths and doctrines to help us all along our journey back to our Heavenly Home. I know that Thomas S. Monson is Gods prophet on earth today. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's kingdom once again established on earth, preparatory to the Second Coming of the Messiah. And because I know these things to be true, I chose to follow the Savior's example in being baptized by one holding God's Priesthood authority. That authority is a key of the gospel also restored through the prophet Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the example of the Savior the best I know how and striving to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit (or the Holy Ghost as we refer to it). This gift is a guide for my life and a director for all things. My choices and actual physical direction can be, and often are, guided by this influence. I try to be the Savior's hands in helping those around me. No one is a stranger. All deserve love and help from a loving Heavenly Father. I try to magnify my responsibilities within Church and family. I renew the promise I made at baptism to follow Jesus' example and take his name upon me as I worthily partake of the sacrament each Sunday. And I try to share the incredible truths I know with others as opportunities arise so they can find the same happiness I have found!
