Hi I'm Jess

I'm a husband, father and grandfather. I'm a corporate financial controller. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work in the corporate accounting world dealing with the challenges it brings and the many individuals & personalities with whom I interact. The work is meaningful and I love being able to make an impact. But once the work day is done I enjoy spending time with my wife and sharing our lives together planning for time with our children & grandchildren. For extra fun I love to fly fish and try my hand at tying flies.

Why I am a Mormon

I went through a period in my late thirties when I questioned who I was and what my purpose was on this earth. I was going through a divorce and needed some guidance when the Lord brought a light into my life. I started to learn about The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints and was blessed with answers to prayers and great feelings of peace. I also had associates at work that were members of the church and they gave me help and support with my many questions. Reading, studying and understanding the messages of the scriptures and how they apply to me individually was a great strength as I felt the love of a Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I was baptized into the Church over 26 years ago and that one small step has been the biggest step of my life. I know that my Savior lives and loves me and will not leave me to face the challenges of this earthly life alone.

How I live my faith

I strive daily to live the kind of life that is patterned after the Savior. Being honest in my dealings and showing love to those around me helps my own testimony grow. Back in my pre-church days if someone asked for help with something my first thought was "what's in it for me?" Now, I freely give of my time helping others and I have a great feeling of joy by doing so. Keeping my marriage strong with weekly dates and keeping in contact with family members strengthens love among all. I'm grateful for the knowledge that families can be together forever and although I fall short, I keep trying. That is what the Savior teaches us and asks us to do.
