Hi I'm Ed Schriner

I'm a Mormon. I joined the church when I was 30 years old. I have four children and ten grandchildren.

About Me

I am 65 years old and have been married for 45 years. Our four children and ten grandchildren all live within 25 minutes of us so we get to see them frequently and have the great opportunity to be involved in the lives of our children and grandchildren. I have been an educator most of my life. I enjoy spending time with my family. I enjoy sports and play golf as often as I can. I like camping, fishing, photography, traveling and motorcycling.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was thirty. We had just had our second of four children and I felt that we needed to be teaching our children about God, Jesus Christ and eternal matters. After much searching and prayer I decided to join the Mormon church because I felt that it was the right thing to do for me and my family. The church has helped me gain an eternal perspective on life. This faith and understanding helps me in my daily life but is especially helpful and comforting when I am faced with some of life's challenges. As most people, I have had some health challenges and have experienced the death of friends and family members. These challenges and the uncertainties of life that we all face are much easier for me to understand and cope with as I apply the principles and teaching of Jesus Christ. I have a testimony that I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me and loves me. I know that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are scripture that are written for us so that we might understand true principles by which we can live our lives. I am thankful that there is a living prophet on the earth today to help me understand how to deal with life's challenges and strive to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Each day I try to live my life as best as I can by living the teachings of Jesus Christ. I try to be of service to others. Through the years, I have served in a variety of callings and assignments that have given me the opportunity to serve and work with many wonderful people. In my community, I have had the opportunity to work in scouting and as a volunteer coach in youth sports. I am very blessed with many wonderful life experiences and friendships.
