Hi I'm Jennette

I grew up on a ranch in Eastern Utah. I love running and playing sports. I'm a mother of five children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a farm girl from small town USA. I grew up learning to love the outdoors, hard work, beautiful sunsets and family get togethers. Which can be pretty crazy these days with all seven of us grown up with families of our own. Good times! I love to play sports, even to this day. I love to play basketball and play three times a week. I also love to run. I have run five marathons, including the Boston marathon, and several half marathons. I have recently become interested in photography and videography. I love making slide shows and fun movies of our family memories. I have a wonderful husband, five beautiful children, an amazing son-in-law and a darling granddaughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a mormon. I have been taught the gospel my whole life. For the first 30 years, I took it for granted. Then in my thirties something happened and I needed God. I started to notice those around me who had accepted Him and those who had not. There was a striking difference. I realized for the first time that God's laws were evidence of His love for us. He wants so much for us to be happy, not only in this life, but forever. I noticed that most of the suffering experienced by myself and those around me was a direct result of disobedience to His laws and commandments. I realized that everything I and my family needed for happiness and security is found in the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have developed a deep appreciation for the words of a living prophet and apostles. I know that without the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, my life would be very different than it is now, my family would be very different. I know this to be true. I love being a mormon!

How I live my faith

I really love the programs of the church. As a family we have committed to be involved in as many of the activities as possible. The youth program is awesome. I have had the wonderful privilege of being a youth leader and my children have benefited from the amazing programs. I have had so many opportunities to develop talents and abilities that I didn't even know that I had. I love that! I have often told my children that people pay a lot of money to receive the kind of training and opportunities that we get through service in the church. Currently I am in charge of organizing meetings and activities for our women's group. It is really great to see women improving their skills and knowledge about various things, such as gardening, education, health, hygiene, cooking, safety, budgeting, parenting and the list goes on and on. We as women love being together, learning from each other and strengthening one another. I think that the greatest blessing that I have received by living my faith is the feeling we have in our home. As we pray together, read the scriptures together and learn about our savior Jesus Christ together and try to do what he would want us to do. We are not perfect and the children do not always get along, things can get crazy, and tempers get a little hot sometimes. But I know where to turn for help, and that makes all the difference in the world.
