Hi I'm Adam

I'm a father of four. I love to stargaze. I'm a rocket scientist and spaceflight mission designer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ever since I was a very young child I've been fascinated by the stars and the idea of being an astronaut. Throughout my youth I pursued every hobby, classroom course, or school club that had anything to do with rockets, astronomy, spaceflight, airplanes, and flying. I received nominations to attend the Air Force Academy. My educational pursuits resulted in a PhD in Aerospace Engineering and a rewarding career designing rocket launch vehicles and spacecraft missions to other planets and asteroids. Along the way, I met my and married my best friend. She has supported me in all my original dreams and pursuits while opening a whole new universe of happiness and possibilities that make my life truly joyful. We are parents to four young children and love spending time together exploring new things and places.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 7 years old I accidently broke a special keepsake of my mother's and was sent to my room in tears. My father came in to reassure me that I was still loved and eventually our conversation turned to a spiritual discussion. Children growing up in the church may decide to be baptized when they reach the age of 8 and my father and I began to discuss what my thoughts were on deciding to be baptized. There was suddenly in my heart an amazing warmth and love that I understood to my Heavenly Father confirming to me in an unmistakable way that he loved me as one of his children and that he wanted me to not only choose to be baptized, but to believe in His Son Jesus Christ, follow His gospel, and return home to Him. I've felt the Spirit many times since in loving ways and in diverse circumstances, but I'm a baptized Mormon because of the confirming witness of the spirit I felt during a tender discussion between myself, my father, and my Heavenly Father when I was 7 years old which has never left me or dulled with the passage of time.

How I live my faith

My wife and I participate fully in our local church congregation. We both served proselyting missions for the church in Spanish speaking countries and have found many opportunities in our local community to continue to serve and be part of the Hispanic community we both grew to love so much during our missions. At church, I serve as a den leader in the Cub Scout organization and spend time each week teaching the wolf and bobcat scouts. I loved scouting as a youth, attaining the rank of Eagle, and feel grateful for the opportunity to provide a good influence in the lives of these young boys.
