Hi I'm Keri

I'm my family's COO, a community volunteer, a big sports fan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been happily married for 14 years to my husband whom I met in college. I have a degree in International Finance and worked for a few years as an accountant and financial analyst. I'm happy to report my perfect career change which is that I'm a stay-at-home mom, a taxi for my kids, and an avid volunteer. I love to cook, especially desserts (and chocolate)! I love vacations and traveling, I love parties, and I love sports! I like to play volleyball with my husband, basketball with my friends, football with my kids, and anything else you throw at me. I never tire of watching my kids play sports, and I'm a big BYU, Chargers, and Padres fan. I grew up in Southern CA but have lived in Nebraska for six years. Aside from the extreme weather, I love Nebraska and am happy to be raising my kids here, and I'm trying my hardest to love the Huskers! I love my good neighbors and enjoy having lots of neighborhood kids constantly in and out of my house. I also love music and can be caught singing and rocking out in my car - I should have a grammy by now! I have a great life!

Why I am a Mormon

Well that's easy - because it's the true gospel of Jesus Christ! Heavenly Father's plan is a plan of happiness. Who doesn't want to be happy? The plan is perfect. We are imperfect people striving for perfection which can only be attained through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The Holy Ghost testifies of truth. It is through prayer, scripture study, and obedience to the commandments that we can know the gospel is true. Many times over I have felt the peace, comfort, and joy that come through righteous living, and know for myself that it's true. My favorite part of the gospel is Eternal Families. I want to be with my family, immediate and extended, forever and ever. Because of temple sealings, I know this is possible. We lost a family member last year to cancer - my husband's twin brother. Why was this good man taken at a young age leaving behind a wife and two children? I can't answer that, but I know Heavenly Father has a plan for this young family, and I know that we will all be together again. I am thankful for goodly parents who have taught me righteous principles and have shared this great faith with me. I know I am a daughter of God and he loves me!

How I live my faith

I can't tell you of any wonderful things I've done that will earn me a nobel peace prize, but I can tell you that it is through service that we can make a difference. It is by "small and simple things that great things are brought to pass." I enjoy serving in the community, through my kids' schools and and at church. I have served the youth for several years, and try to help my friends as much as I can. My extended family lives far away and I love having a church family and Christian neighbors to help me in times of need. During a recent surgery my good friends helped to take care of my kids and bring my family dinner. It is through small acts of service, such as this, that I try to make a difference too. It begins in my home by teaching my family how to serve others (we still have a lot to work on!) The rewards come as I see my children helping others with a smile, and when I see kids I have taught, read with, or played math games with come up to me for a high five or to share something important with me. Service is the secret to happiness.
